Shop at BOP's Frequently Asked Questions

How do I purchase products on your shopping cart?

Click on the category you are interested in. All pages have the category tree on the left side. You'll see how some categories have sub-categories on the left that you can choose from. The home page (Store Front) has pictures with links that you can go to the chosen category as well.

Once you are at the category you want you can click on Add One to Basket to add that product to your shopping cart or click on the link/picture to get more details. Often you will need to go to the details page where you can customize your purchase by selecting the option (color, size, leg style, etc.) that you desire.

You are required to select the options that are in bold. You then type in the quantity you want of this product and click on Add to Basket to add that quantity of product to your shopping cart.

At any point you can remove a product or alter the quantity by clicking Basket Contents which is in the menu near the top of the page. When you are ready to make your purchase click Checkout on the far right of the menu. You may either (1) create a new account, (2) place an order without creating an account or (3) log into your established account.

What are those symbols on the left side of the website where all the categories are listed? There's plus signs and the numbers in parentheses there but I'm not sure what they mean.

  • A plus sign (+) alongside a link signifies that a category has subcategories within it.
  • A number in parentheses, ( ), indicates how many products are in that particular category.

Why would I create an account at Shop at BOP?

Creating an account is not required at Shop at BOP. However, there are certain benefits described below:

  • When you return to make more purchases the shipping and billing information will already be filled in for you once you log into your account
  • Those with accounts may be notified of specials not offered to customers without accounts.

How do I go about creating an account at Shop at BOP?

After you have decided on what you'd like to purchase, click on Checkout. You will have a choice to either Create New Account or Place Order Without Account. By selecting Create New Account you will be go to a screen where you can create a Login and Password and then enter your billing and shipping information.

How long after I create an account will I start receiving emails about discounts available?

Within 24 business hours (Monday through Friday) you will be added to our list of Preferred Customers and notified at that time. If there are any sales going on at that time you will be notified immediately. If you set up an account over the weekend, we may be able to assist you with this since our info@shopatbop.com is checked periodically.

Is there a way to create an account without making a purchase?

Yes. You can create an account by selecting the Account link (beneath the Shop at BOP logo), on any page other than the home page.

Here are the steps:

  • Create an account there by supplying login, billing, and shipping information.
  • Click on Save in the lower right hand corner of your screen.
  • Email us at info@shopatbop.com that you have just created an account.

Is my transaction information is secure?

We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, which encrypts or scrambles your personal and credit card information before it is sent to us. This prevents anyone other than select persons at Shop at BOP from accessing it. We use a registered Verisign SSL certificate to assure that your transactions are secure. You'll notice that on pages where secure information is collected the URL or address in your browser will start with https:// rather than just http://, signifying that these pages are secure. What credit cards do you accept?

Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.

Does Shop at BOP have any products that can be seen at the Boston Organ & Piano stores?

We do not have any products at Boston Organ & Piano for viewing. Products are shipped directly from the manufacturers.

Is there an minimum order amount at Shop at BOP?

Yes, an order must total $25.00 (not including tax for Massachusetts customers).

The exception is for those who have purchased lamps from our store. They can make a purchase of less than $25.00 if they are buying replacement bulbs for those lamps. Email us at info@shopatbop.com or call us at 508-655-1550, Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 5:00 ET, for details.

Do I pay state sales tax on your products?

Only those with shipping addresses in Massachusetts pay state sales tax, which is 6.25%. Clothing is exempt tax.

How do I go about getting sales tax exemption for my purchase?

For those with shipping addresses in Massachusetts, below is a simple, one-time procedure that will enable to you purchase tax free:

  1. Create a Shop at BOP account by clicking on the Account link in the menu that runs across the top of any page, except for the initial home page. Creating an account is easy to do so since the only additional information you need to enter is the Customer Login and Password you are using for the account. If you already have an account, it is not necessary to create another one.
  2. Fax your certificate of sales tax exemption to 508-651-0679 if we don't already have one on file.
  3. Email us at info@shopatbop.com with the Shop at BOP Login you created for your shopping cart account. We will email you back once we have added your Sales Tax Exempt ID to our Sales Tax Exempt database.

Now when you select Checkout after selecting the items you'd like to purchase, you enter your Login and Password and all your shipping and billing information will already be entered. When you go to the page where you select the shipping and credit card option, there will be a field filled in with your Tax Exempt ID to confirm that the purchase is tax free. Select Continue and you'll see on the next page that there you are not being charged tax for your purchase.
